Our Pre-K Curriculum follows Ohio Department of Education standards for early childhood development. Students will learn social/emotional skills, cognitive development, language and literacy development, gross motor skills along with many approaches toward learning. Students learn in small groups and centers based environment. In these small groups children are discovering concepts through play and guided practice. Teachers are able to differentiate (extending lessons for some and re teaching for others).
You may have heard about the common core state standards. We adopted a curriculum called, Opening the World of Learning “OWL” that follows those standards. These new standards are teaching children to problem solve and understand skills deeper than required with former standards. Hopefully you will notice less quantity and more quality from your children. We will encourage your child to not only learn skills, but to also think about concepts, compare ideas, question opinions, and relate to thoughts.
Common core standards are nationally based, therefore, you can be sure your child will be prepared for Kindergarten. Our program leads to the curriculum of any elementary school your child will attend the following year.
